Vampires are one of the most popular Halloween costumes for 2009

With the popularity of the movie "Twilight" and other series about vampires, this will push vampire costumes to be one of the top picks this year. This Halloween you will find many different vampire costumes including popular costumes based on the movie with the white skin and the normal clothes. Also you will find the forever popular old costumes with the white skin and the long black cape. These results are according to a survey released by the National Retail Federation.

The National Retail Federation estimates that 47 million adults and 58 million children will dress up for Halloween. The group also found that witches and pirates would be a part of the top choices.

Just like most other years you will find nurses and political figures would be far less popular with the people who dress up for Halloween.

Just keep an eye out as time gets closer to Halloween you will find costumes for Barack Obama, George Bush and Bill Clinton on the rise in the list.

KFC double down

KFC is currently test marketing a new sandwich so called the "Double Down", but can you really call it a sandwich, without having the bread.

This new double down sandwich comes with two chicken filets used as the bun. The sandwich starts out with one chicken filet, topped with two slices of bacon, covered with melted pepper-jack and swiss cheese, topped with the KFC special sauce and finally the last chicken filet.

This Double-Down sure sounds good but the predicted calorie count is through the roof. It is an estimated 1,228 calories this independent analysis was done by the Vancouver Sun. This calorie count estimate for the double down is about 300 calories more than the Wendy's triple burger with everything.

If your looking to test one of these sandwiches you might want to catch the next plane to Providence, Rhode Island or Omaha, Nebraska, because these are the only places testing these sandwiches to date.

Classic Board Games, A Thing Of The Past?

Lately the in the Video game industry sales are dropping they are down nearly 15% since this same time in 2008, who would of thought that video game sales would be dropping off the way they are.

Does the video game sales slump come from the cost of the games? Some might think so. Or is it that board games are bringing families back closer together?

While the video game sales are in a downward spiral, the Classic board game sales are on the rise. Sales are up over 10% from last year.

There are significant price differences between the two media. A new video game for Playstation3, Wii or XBOX 360 can range anywhere from $40 to $60. You can pick up a brand new Monopoly or Scrabble game for around $10. That is a big difference.

There is a fantastic bonus with the classic board games. You get to be more social with friends and there is more interaction between family members, as long as you can keep from cheating.

I think the classic board games are going to be here for a long time. Keeping families closer, by shutting off the TV and violent video games, getting out the card table and setting up a game. Don’t be surprised by the amount of family conversation that happens on family game nights.
